Following the decree of the Macron Act last August, the banking mobility amendment will come into effect starting February 2017. The banking mobility act will take effect on 6 February 2017. This law will give banking customers the possibility, upon signature, to authorize their new bank to perform all the transfers and withdrawals necessary to transfer information and funds from their old account to their new account.
The law also stipulates that a client’s former bank must notify any clients with outstanding checks, transfers or withdrawals that have not been debited within the thirteen months following closure of an account.
